Destiny 2’s Shadowkeep, Witch Queen, and Beyond Light Expansions Are Free to All Players Until June
/Bungie is prepping for Destiny 2’s biggest expansion yet with the release of The Final Shape on June 4, and they want more players to be just as prepared by opening the game’s Beyond Light, Shadowkeep, and The Witch Queen expansions and all their content for free for a limited time.
The cool thing about this is that Year 6’s seasonal content is now open to all as well. That means all players that missed Season of Defiance, Season of the Deep, and Season of the Witch can play the entirety of the content, hunt for the gears and rewards attached to each season, and keep what they earned when the open access ends on June 3.
So that’s three expansions plus all seasonal content now available to all players. The only thing lacking to get someone up to speed before The Final Shape expansion is the latest expansion called Lightfall.
For those interested in playing Destiny 2 on PlayStation and is subscribed to PlayStation Plus, you have pretty much all access to every expansion as Lightfall is currently one of the Monthly Games offered for May 2024.
The Open Access offer went live soon after Destiny 2 went back online from its weekly maintenance. The game was then also updated with three new PvP maps entirely free for all players. These maps are Cirrus Plaza, Dissonance, and Eventide Labs.
The game’s Into the Light event is also still live and features the new game mode Onslaught and rewards players with fan favorite weapons with must-get perks that will heavily bolster your arsenal for any content.\
Into the Light also brings back a reprised version of The Whisper and Zero Hour Exotic Missions and a new raid boss gauntlet mode called Pantheon to test veteran raiders.
Life is Strange: Double Exposure brings back Max Caulfield with new time-manipulation powers, but struggles to capture the original’s emotional weight. While the dual-timeline mechanic is engaging, the story’s weak twists, forgettable characters, and technical issues hold it back. A nostalgic revisit, but not a standout entry in the series.
