Diablo IV on Console Plagued With Licensing Errors in Its First Hour of Early Access
/The early access for Blizzard’s action RPG Diablo IV is now live and sadly history seems to be repeating for a portion of the Diablo community as console players are experiencing licensing error codes the moment the servers went live.
As of this writing, it’s not clear what is the cause of this error as Blizzard is aware and is trying to find a fix as soon as they can. We too are seeing the same issue as it happens the moment you log in and try to connect to Diablo IV servers.
When it’s done logging in, I was welcomed with this error code. It’s likely server side but it’s definitely not a long wait to get to this point as the queue wait times were around a few minutes long.
In the official Diablo Twitter page, their first tweet since the servers went live is filled with console players showing that they can’t get in.
I’ve seen mostly PlayStation players showing the same error, though you do see the occasional Xbox player experiencing similar issues.
We took a peek at the Blizzard forums and it shows a similar story for console players. As for PC, that platform seems to be okay so far as most of the noise online is on the console version. Many are expressing their dissatisfaction already as many have likely reserved a day (or even the whole weekend) to be part of the game’s early access, which requires you to pre-order the game and pay extra in order to play the game 4 days earlier as the original release date of Diablo IV is June 6.
The Community Development Director for Diablo IV Adam Fletcher went to Twitter to let the community know that they are aware of the issue and confirms the license issue seems to mainly be an issue for PlayStation users.
We’ll report back as more information is given or if has been resolved.
Life is Strange: Double Exposure brings back Max Caulfield with new time-manipulation powers, but struggles to capture the original’s emotional weight. While the dual-timeline mechanic is engaging, the story’s weak twists, forgettable characters, and technical issues hold it back. A nostalgic revisit, but not a standout entry in the series.
