Diablo IV’s 1.1.1 Patch to Buff Sorcerer and Barbarian, Add an Additional Stash Space
/In the latest campfire developer stream for Diablo IV, Blizzard addressed the negative feedback from the 1.1.0 patch that left the community mostly unhappy with the changes implemented days before the first season went live. Based on the feedback, they intend to launch a 1.1.1 patch very soon to buff the Sorcerer and Barbarian class, provide a bandaid solution to the stash space issue, and more.
Patch 1.1.0 was a big blow, and Blizzard is addressing it head-on
The infamous 1.1.0 was a big blow that the live stream that just recently ended felt like an emergency stream to quickly address the changes as almost everyone that plays Diablo IV’s endgame was not happy at all. I for one felt it was a bit discouraged by the changes, so a few explanations from their side felt did feel needed for reassurance.
The next patch, patch 1.1.1, will be addressing some of the issues, but don’t expect the next update to revert all of the changes that were done in patch 1.1.0 but improve the current state of the game based on feedback. Here’s a breakdown of what to expect based on the post that was just released after the live stream.
We will be implementing Nightmare Dungeons tuning changes to pair with class changes that came with 1.1.0.
Barbarians and Sorcerers - with Sorcerer first - will be getting adjustments to Legendary Aspects in Patch 1.1.1.
Monster density will be substantially increased in Nightmare Dungeons, as well as in Helltide.
We will add an additional stash tab as well as Elixir Stack Size increases.
We will reduce the Gold respec costs by 40%.
We want the leveling journey from 50-100 to be faster and are looking at increasing XP bonuses for playing on higher World Tiers.

They didn’t go into detail just yet on how Barbarians and Sorcerers will be buffed in a few weeks as they were the ones greatly affected by the 1.1.0 changes. Another change is the additional stash tab as inventory space is weirdly a problem in the game and is currently a bandaid solution as they fix a more permanent fix in the future. They also stated that they are indeed working on gems being in the resource tab in the future instead of simply taking inventory space.

The developers further reiterated that they don’t intend to slow the leveling process or “remove the fun” from the game. Their main goal in the controversial 1.1.0 patch was to make more builds viable to push to higher content, or capable of beating Uber Lilith, the hardest content a player can participate in once they reach max level. Despite this being the goal, it’s hard to see the game going in that direction with everyone feeling relatively weaker in terms of damage and defense. It also didn’t help that one day everyone was enjoying their build, then the next a massive patch changed everything in a blink of an eye.
That’s why moving forward, Blizzard intends to share with the community incoming patch notes before it goes live to get feedback, likely during those live stream campfire sessions, essentially not surprising the player base with drastic changes like the ones done in patch 1.1.0. They also stated that they won’t be doing that kind of patch where they weaken the best builds for a particular class without giving alternatives in return.
The next live stream is next week and is likely going to go live around the same time. Patch 1.1.1 is expected to launch days after the next stream goes live so changes are coming sooner rather than later.
It’s a step forward but it will sadly take some time before everything feels right in the world of Sanctuary. We’ll see if the player base has enough patience left in the tank for a game that’s just a couple of months old.
