Dragon Ball FighterZ Season 3 Adds A New Assist Mechanic And More Saiyans
/Dragon Ball FighterZ’s World Tour 2020 have ended, which only means a new season has begun. Season 3 will add a new assist system called ‘Z Assist Select’ and will add five new characters.
The first character joining the FighterZ roster is Kefla, a fusion mix of characters Kale and Caulifla which debuted in the Dragon Ball Super series. Then, Kefla is followed by Goku’s Ultra Instinct form, his strongest point in the anime so far. The remaining three are currently unknown.
Balance changes are expected as we enter the game’s third season, but this is the first time since the game’s release that Bandai Namco adds a new system to add more variety which outright changes the meta. The Z Assist system is pretty much how Marvel vs Capcom provides variety to their characters - by giving each character three different assist attacks.
Before season 3, all characters had one assist attack. With the Z Assist system, this adds more depth to how one would want to compose your team of three. You pick the assist attack you prefer for each character in the character select screen and this system opens a new avenue of character synergy that players would love to discover and learn in the lab.
Bandai Namco’s aim during Season 3 is to make changes in order to make the whole game feel fresh for players existing and returning players. other changes are planned, like making a 1v3 situations seem more possible and not feel one-sided.
