Ubisoft released details of what to expect from Far Cry 6 after it launches on October 7. The post-launch content roadmap involves free weekly insurgencies, six free Special Operations, and three crossover missions that will feature Danny Trejo, a Rambo superfan, and Stranger Things respectively. This is separate from the planned Season Pass for the game that lets players play as famed villains from previous titles.

We don’t know much about how these Far Cry 6 crossover missions will play out but it will come free to all that bought the game. The first crossover mission will involve Danny Trejo and will be available sometime in December 2021, and hopefully Danny Trejo himself has not only lent his likeness but also his voice, for the sake of immersion. The next one will be the Rambo-themed crossover mission planned for a Feb 2022 release. Then lastly, a Far Cry and Stranger Things team-up is planned to be released sometime in March 2022.

Before all of that, Far Cry 6 will launch with weekly insurgencies, activities that task players to hunt new threats in the island, and your efforts in these missions will earn you new gear.

Then, expect Special Operations once the game launches, unique missions that add new areas to the game that’s said to introduce new gameplay mechanics as players are tasked to steal unstable chemical weapons from arms dealers and extract with it not exploding in your face. The first two maps - Mesozoico and Maceo - will be available at launch. The other four maps will be slowly added at a later date.

Lastly, Far Cry 6’s Season Pass (priced at ~PHP 1,500), which doesn’t expand the world of Far Cry 6 but rather looks back and let’s players play famed villains that served as the poster boy for their respective titles.

The first episode, named ‘Vaas: Insanity’, let’s you control Far Cry 3’s Vaas and is planned for a November 2021 release. The second episode is called ‘Pagan: Control’ which features Far Cry 4’s Pagan and is planned for a January 2022 release. Lastly, the third episode titled ‘Joseph: Collapse’, has the player control Far Cry 5’s cult leader Joseph Seed, will be out sometime in March 2022.

Each of these episodes can be played either solo or co-op and has some roguelike elements where the player starts with nothing and slowly improves his arsenal from what they’ve picked up in previous runs. If you die, start all over again but with a better loadout.

The Season Pass will also come with a copy of Far Cry 3’s standalone DLC Blood Dragon, because why not.

It will also come with the Blood Dragon set, content that can be used in Far Cry 6’s main campaign.

Here’s what it contains:

  • One outfit: Blood Dragon Gear Set

  • Two weapons: AJM9 and Kobracon

  • One vehicle: Omega Enforcer

  • One weapon charm: KillStar

  • One Fang for Hire: K-9000

  • One vehicle Chibi: Blood Dragon Chibi

Pre-orders for the PS4 and PS5 and the Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One version of Far Cry 6 is now available on local stores in the Philippines. Datablitz’s estimates the price for the Yara edition (standard copy) of either versions of Far Cry 6 will range from PHP 2,600 - PHP 2,900. Those who opt for previous gen copies of the game will have access to the current gen version of the game at no additional cost.
