Google Stadia will now launch this week with 22 games
/Google Stadia is launching on November 19, which is just a few hours as I write this and it seems that Google has doubled the total number of games available for Stadia players at launch.
Originally at 12 launch games for the streaming platform, Stadia will now have 22 games available once the service goes live.
The updated list is as follows:
Destiny 2: The Collection (free in Stadia Pro).
Attack on Titan: Final Battle 2.
Farming Simulator 2019.
Final Fantasy 15.
Football Manager 2020.
Grid.
Gylt.
Just Dance 2020.
Kine.
Metro Exodus.
Mortal Kombat 11.
NBA 2K20.
Samurai Shodown (free in Stadia Pro).
Rage 2.
Rise of the Tomb Raider.
Red Dead Redemption 2.
Shadow of the Tomb Raider.
Thumper.
Assassin’s Creed Odyssey.
Tomb Raider.
Trials Rising.
Wolfenstein: Youngblood.
We will soon find out how Google Stadia will perform as it will launch with even its basic features unavailable on day 1 as revealed in a Reddit AMA thread. Players that opt-in for the Stadia this week will not have a web store, Chromecast Ultra only being available to those that picked up the Founders Editions, a UI for achievements, even the ability to let players join other games will not be available. Stadia won’t even debut with Family Sharing. We are even told not everybody who purchased the Google Stadia controller will have it at launch, so there will be people forced to use Stadia via keyboard and mouse.
It’s unlikely to see Google Stadia as a viable platform in most regions in Southeast Asia, but it’s worth noting how well the technology performs as a product overall to see if this will be another avenue the gaming industry will expand on in the coming years.
