Hell Let Loose coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X on October 5
/Team17 and Black Matter announced that Hell Let Loose, their massive FPS set in World War II is coming to the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on October 5, 2021 with cross-play available at launch. PlayStation 5 owners are also invited to join an open beta from September 16 to September 20.
Hell Let Loose is a 50 versus 50 FPS shooter that incorporated a more grounded and strategic approach to a massive war between multiple players. There are various roles one player can take but what’s interesting about this shooter is that a player can also take the role of the commander that’s tasked to direct the flow of the whole team.
The shooter recently launched on PC as it exited Steam’s Early Access program on July 28, 2021 and since then it’s been given rave reviews from critics and players alike.
Hell Let Loose open beta on the PlayStation 5
PlayStation 5 owners can opt to try out the shooter in a couple of weeks for free to experience the game’s Hurtgen Forest in the game mode called warfare, one of the two game modes available in the main game. Warfare starts with eac side occupying half of the map. Once that’s established, each side will attempt to push the opposition back and slowly secure enemy territory until they reach the enemy base. A team can also win by having the most ground when the game time runs out.
Here’s a quick rundown of features provided by Team17:
Hell Let Loose key features
The brutality of the War in Europe: Hell Let Loose portrays the battles of the Western Front across two distinct modes, Offensive and Warfare.
Authentic strategic gameplay: Each side of 50 players is broken down into armour, infantry, and recon, led by officers with a direct line to an overall player-commander directing the flow of the game.
Unique metagame: Extended battles entrench participants in the tidal-like motion of the frontline that builds up Hell Let Loose’s real-time strategy inspired metagame.
Playing a Part: Fourteen roles are available for players to experience, from engineers and snipers, commanders and tank crewmen, medics and support; all play a part in the war effort.

During a post-launch free winter update, Black Matter will be adding the Eastern Front maps of Stalingrad and Kursk, together with the Soviet Forces on the console version of the game, content that is now currently available on the PC version.
