New Infamous game rumored to be revealed at this week’s PlayStation showcase

As we get closer to the PS5 games showcase planned for this week, rumors of what could be the big reveal have been the talk of the town, and it looks like one stuck out more than the rest as it’s said that we could get a reveal of the next Infamous game.
XboxEra co-founder @Shpeshal_Nick tweeted on September 5 that we could get a reveal of a new Infamous game but couldn’t confirm the details, saying that people should “take this one with a grain of salt”.
Sage advice, but it’s worth considering if you’re wondering what could possibly be revealed at the show. Shpeshal_Nick in the past was known to release Sucker Punch rumors, giving the public a whiff of what eventually became Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut. He pointing out that they are working on an expandalone DLC content aimed for 2021. It wasn’t accurate as the Iki Island expansion isn’t standalone, but he was definitely in the ballpark.
To add more weight to this rumor, many at Reddit noticed that developer Sucker Punch and Sony renewed the Infamous domain last year. It could simply mean that they are preserving the series by keeping every asset in check. At the very least. It's a good sign that the Infamous series isn’t completely forgotten.
Infamous returning wouldn’t be a bad idea as the last entry to the series, Infamous Second Son, was released in 2014 and still remains as a great open world action adventure game left with a lot of potential to expand even further. Infamous: First Light, a spinoff standalone game that partners with Second Son, was also a great addition for those looking to get more from the Infamous world.
Also, the timing for developer Sucker Punch to announce their new project seems fitting as they found success with their new open world game Ghost of Tsushima, and they just released Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut just last month for PS4 and PS5.
At the end of the day this is a rumor, so the Infamous reveal could easily not happen as there is no official word as of this writing, but one can hope as I didn’t think a Dead Space remake was going to happen when the rumors were swirling in the internet, but it did.
