Hunt: Showdown Tide of Desolation Event Detailed
/Hunt: Showdown’s final Tide event has been detailed by Crytek as we know what to expect from the event when it goes live on December 13, 2023, and will run until February 14, 2024. Here’s all you need to know about Tide of Desolation when it goes live.
If you’ve played the last two events of the Tide event series, then you’re pretty much good to go, but for those new — this event allows you to earn event points for doing specific activities during a match and doing the weekly challenges. These points allow you to progress through the event’s battle pass, which consists of free and premium tiers to unlock.
From the look of things, the amount of points you earn during a match remains similar to the last event Tide of Corruption.
Tide of Desolation Event Points breakdown

New Hunters
When the event goes live, new Hunters will be introduced for the event as players can earn a free Hunter called the Beekeeper when they reach tier 50 in the Tide of Desolation battle pass. For those who purchase the battle pass for access to the premium tiers, you’ll get a second Hunter at tier 25 called Thirteenth Mate.
Tide of Desolation Pact Traits
During Tide of Desolation, you’ll have three pacts to pick with two exclusive traits. Some are returning Pact traits from previous events, while some are traits we’ve never seen before.
Here’s a breakdown of the new Traits for each Pact.
Drowned Pact Traits
Mariner (1 Pledge Mark) - Health and Stamina regeneration is greatly increased while in water and marginally increased while exposed to heavy rain.
Remedy (2 Pledge Marks, Burn trait) - Using Dark Sight, interact with a Trait Spur to trigger a Restoration effect similar to banishing for your team’s Hunters. The trait has a 25m range.
Demented Pact Traits
Berserker (1 Pledge Mark) - All melee attacks do double damage.
Rampage ( 2 Pledge Marks, burn trait) - Killing an enemy Hunter while at least one Health Chunk is empty triggers a Restoration effect for your Hunter.
Grounded Pact Traits
Shadow Leap (1 Pledge Mark) - Using Dark Sight, channel a monster within range to jump to its location and kill it instantly. Excludes Targets. The trait will have a 50m range.
Final Gasp (2 Pledge Marks, Burn Trait) - Looting a Hunter while at least one Health Chunk is empty or missing triggers a Restoration for y our Hunter.
Adding these new traits will require you to pledge one of the three Pacts mentioned above with your current Hunter, which can be done in a match in any of the Supply Points in the map.
Once you make a Pledge to a Pact, you can then use your Hunters Pledge marks to get your pledged Pact’s traits, which can also be found in the Supply Point near the Pacts.
How to Get Pledge Marks
Pledge Marks can be earned by a player three times in a match, and a Hunter can hold up to four Pledge Marks at a time. A Hunter can get a Pledge Mark by:
First, banish
The first time you loot a dead Hunter in a match
Earn 30 Event Points
Become the Soul Survivor (Quick Play matches)
The Tide of Desolation event goes live with the meaty 1.15 update, which major changes to the game.
Life is Strange: Double Exposure brings back Max Caulfield with new time-manipulation powers, but struggles to capture the original’s emotional weight. While the dual-timeline mechanic is engaging, the story’s weak twists, forgettable characters, and technical issues hold it back. A nostalgic revisit, but not a standout entry in the series.
