Minecraft Legends Set to Launch This April
/Mojang Studios and Blackbird Interactive were present at the Xbox and Bethesda Developer Direct showcase this January to show off Minecraft Legends, particularly its PvP mode. They also revealed that the game will launch on April 18, 2023.
This isn’t the typical Minecraft where creativity can go wild as this game features a story-driven campaign where you band together with different mobs to stop the invading piglins, a pig-like race. The campaign can also be played online with friends.
But the main focus in the showcase was the game’s PvP mode, a four versus four mode where teams gather resources, build their base and its defenses, and eventually attack the opposing team and hopefully destroy what they’ve created. The maps created for this mode will also be procedurally generated like the game’s campaign and will have cross-platform play and online matchmaking.
It’s an interesting mode as players will have to work together to gather, build, defend, and eventually take out the enemy base. The mode will also feature Piglets that will be hostile to both teams and other mobs that could be a benefit for a team.
The Xbox and Bethesda Developer Direct contained new information for games like the release date of Redfall, the latest Chapter for Elder Scrolls Online, Forza Motorsport, and the surprise announcement and release of Tango Gameworks’ Hi-Fi Rush.
Minecraft Legends will be available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Switch, Game Pass, and PC via Steam and Microsoft Store.
Life is Strange: Double Exposure brings back Max Caulfield with new time-manipulation powers, but struggles to capture the original’s emotional weight. While the dual-timeline mechanic is engaging, the story’s weak twists, forgettable characters, and technical issues hold it back. A nostalgic revisit, but not a standout entry in the series.
