New Forza Motorsport Gameplay Revealed at Developer Direct
/Developer Turn 10 is working on Forza Motorsport, the next entry in the long-running racing simulator game and talked more about the game during the Xbox and Bethesda Developer Direct.
The same is said to feature more than 500 cars to collect and race with 100 of them being new to the franchise. Forza Motorsport will also feature more than 800 input upgrades. In the presentation (which you can watch above), the developers showed South Africa’s Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit, just one of the five new environments being added to the game. This brings the total environments for the game to 20.
Forza Motorsport is always known to be a visual spectacle and it seems that way with what was shown at the showcase. The developers pointed out that real life car paints were captured using a spectra-photometer to develop paint models to create realistic light responses. To add even more realism to the game, there will be damage and dirt build up for each car and how the race turned out. Turn 10 also made cars in the game to feature a variety of sounds based on the parts you’ve installed.
The racing game will also feature a dynamic time of day with weather, making one race able to turn from a clear bright race to a gloomy and wet race at the end.
Sadly, no release date was given for Forza Motorsport as it’s still expected to release sometime in 2023.
The Xbox and Bethesda Developer Direct only featured five titles, but was packed with information. Arkane’s Redfall now has a release date, Elder Scrolls Online is getting a new Chapter this June, the release date of Minecraft Legends, and Tango Gameworks surprised everyone with their new game Hi-Fi Rush, which is out now.
Metaphor: ReFantazio is now my favorite title from the Persona team by far. It’s one of those rare games where its main pillars work harmoniously, and you get lost in its charm. It’s a pristine JRPG, with enough style and substance to satisfy hardcore JRPG fans, Persona fans, and even those who rarely touch JRPGs.
