New Game Plus Feature for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Delayed to Early 2024
/Insomniac Games announced that the New Game Plus update for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will be pushed back to early 2024 as they require more testing from the studio, but it also looks like they want to deliver a large update that not only comes with New Game Plus but with more features.
Hey Web-Heads,
We have some news about the next game update for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. We know players have been eagerly awaiting features such as New Game+ and Audio Descriptions, among many more. We have been working vigilantly on these features and require more testing to ensure the quality is up to our standards.
We are now targeting early 2024 for the next game update, and we’ll have a feature-complete list closer to its release. We’ve heard your feedback and will be adding some highly requested features, including the ability to change the time of day, swap tendril colors, and replay missions—just to name a few!
We can’t wait to share more with you in the future. In the meantime, we appreciate your patience as our team works to finish our next update for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2!
Thanks,
Insomniac Games
The features mentioned are simple additions that enhance the experience rather than improve it. As for New Game Plus, it’s a feature many quickly requested as it allows players to play the game’s campaign from the beginning, carrying over all the levels and skills you’ve unlocked in that particular playthrough.
New Game Plus is slowly being placed as a standard for most single-player titles and Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 would greatly benefit from it considering this is a straightforward game to complete fully and it would be great to have players play more of the game with everything unlocked.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is now available on PlayStation 5 and we easily gave it a 4/5 as it’s one of the best superhero video games out today and is a sequel that greatly embraces the source material while making its twist of its key characters.
Life is Strange: Double Exposure brings back Max Caulfield with new time-manipulation powers, but struggles to capture the original’s emotional weight. While the dual-timeline mechanic is engaging, the story’s weak twists, forgettable characters, and technical issues hold it back. A nostalgic revisit, but not a standout entry in the series.
