Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl Is Smash Bros. But With your favorite Nick Cartoons
/it’s not everyday that you see a trailer for a Nickelodeon video game and feel excited for it. But here we are as Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl has been announced and is a Smash Bros. fighting game with all your favorite Nick cartoon characters.
The levels and gameplay is similar to Smash Bros. just by looking at the trailer above. Each character on the game will be unique but apparently some moves will need to be unlocked, according to IGN. They didn’t go into detail how that will work but expect working to unlock the full toolkit of your beloved childhood Nick cartoon character.
Those confirmed to be part of the Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl roster are:
Powdered Toast Man ( Ren & Stimpy)
Nigel Thornberry (The Wild Thornberrys)
Oblina (Aaahhh!!! Real Monsters)
Lincoln Loud (The Loud House)
Lucy Loud (The Loud House)
Patrick Star (Sponge Bob Square Pants)
Sponge Bob (Sponge Bob Square Pants)
Sandy Cheeks (Sponge Bob Square Pants)
Reptar (Rugrats)
Leonardo (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles)
Michelangelo (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles)
Helga (Hey Arnold!)
Zim (Invader Zim)
Danny Phantom (Danny Phantom)
Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl will feature 20 levels based on the Nick shows and will come with single and multiplayer game modes. The game will be playable either through local or online for up to four players.
What’s interesting is that All-Star Brawl could feature rollback netcode, the golden standard for a smooth and stable online game mode for fighting games. Twitter user @Nibellion has pointed out that the developers have commented through Discord about the game having rollback netcode and simply answered by saying “on supported platforms”.
We’ll see if that stays true as rollback netcode does wonders for fighting games that feature online play. Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl is being developed by Ludosity and Fair Play Labs and published by GameMill Entertainment. The fighting game is set to come out on P55, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and the Nintendo Switch in Fall 2021.
