The Callisto Protocol Season Pass Contains New Player Death Animations
/The Callisto Protocol is just a few weeks away and the survival horror’s season pass will apparently include new player death animations on top of new modes, skins, and more story-based content.
The details of The Callisto Protocol’s season pass was revealed in the game’s Steam page, and while new player death animations may seem like an uncommon choice for DLC, this one fits if you’ve been following The Callisto Protocol since it was revealed.
There will be numerous ways protagonist Jacob Lee will perish in this survival horror, and the death animations shown by developers Striking Distance Studios so far is just pure horror and gore, fitting the tone nicely for the game.
How many player death animations will be added? Apparently thirteen as there are two bundles inside the Season Pass. You also get new enemy death animations in one bundle.
Here’s what The Callisto Protocol season pass will contain according to Steam:
Outer Way Skin Collection: Bear the armor of the Outer Way, an underground insurgency pitted against the UJC, as you fight to survive the horrors of Callisto.
Contagion Bundle: Discover the ultimate survival horror experience with a new mode, Contagion. With reduced ammo and health drops, a customized difficulty and permadeath – there are no second chances to escape Black Iron Prison or the horrors lurking beneath the surface of Callisto. The Contagion Bundle also includes thirteen new Jacob death animations and the Watchtower Skin Collection.
Riot Bundle: Venture into a previously undiscovered area of Black Iron Prison and battle through waves of brutal enemies. Gather credits to upgrade your weapons, or forge new ones, and survive the onslaught as long as you can in Riot, an all-new mode. The Riot Bundle also includes twelve new enemy death animations and the Engineer Skin Collection.
Story DLC: Dig deeper into the horrifying secrets of The Callisto Protocol.
The Story DLC is a bit vague and will report back if more details are given before or after launch.
The Callisto Protocol launches on December 2, 2022 on the PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC.
Life is Strange: Double Exposure brings back Max Caulfield with new time-manipulation powers, but struggles to capture the original’s emotional weight. While the dual-timeline mechanic is engaging, the story’s weak twists, forgettable characters, and technical issues hold it back. A nostalgic revisit, but not a standout entry in the series.
