Wasteland 3's Cult of the Holy Detonation expansion announced, out this October

InXile Entertainment announced that Wasteland 3 will be getting another narrative expansion called Cult of the Holy Detonation and will be out on October 5, 2021. This is the second expansion for the strategy RPG game released last year and is considered to be the last post-launch content for the game.

Dubbed as the Rangers’ last mission in Colorado, players will venture deep within the Cheyene Mountain military complex to deal with a mutant cult that worships an ancient deity called the Holy Detonation.

Here’s the full description of the expansion from the developers:

“Cult of the Holy Detonation expands the Wasteland 3 experience with entry into the Cheyenne Mountain complex, crammed with new characters, enemies, challenging combat encounters, and powerful new weapons and armor. Your squad of Rangers will be tested like never before in objective-based encounters that put a creative spin on the already deeply tactical turn-based combat. As they face overwhelming odds, the Rangers will need to shut down reactors, clear ventilation systems, and engage defensive countermeasures to stem an unending tide of dangerous mutants and machines within the dilapidated military bunker.”

InXile also announced the Wasteland 3: Colorado Collection which packs in both the Battle of Steeltown and Cult of the Holy Detonation expansions plus the Colorado Survival Gear bonus items. The collection is an option for new players that want all the content of the game in one go. The package will be available digitally on October 5, the same time Cult of the Holy Detonation becomes available.
