This Limited Edition Shadow Of The Tomb Raider Xbox One X Is The Only One Of Its Kind
/Microsoft has created an ultra-exclusive, custom Xbox One X console to celebrate the upcoming release of Shadow of the Tomb Raider, the third and possibly final installment in the series of Tomb Raider games focusing on the origins of Lara Croft.
There’s only one of this console in the entire world and it’s being auctioned off on Ebay, with all proceeds going to Best Friends, a national animal welfare organization dedicated to ending the killing of dogs and cats in American shelters. The price began at $1000 when the auction went live last week, but bidders quadrupled that number in under a day.
The console sports a singular aesthetic that evokes the Peruvian jungle and ancient Mayan masonry and is signed by Camilla Luddington, the actress who has been providing the motion capture performance and voice acting for Lara since 2013’s Tomb Raider.
Bidding will end on September 5 at 6:00 AM Pacific Time or 9:00 AM Eastern Time. That’s pretty much 48 hours from now. Currently, the highest bidder has put it down for $7,600, which means you'll need a hefty chunk of cash to outbid them for what is admittedly the coolest looking Xbox One X we've ever seen.
Shadow of the Tomb Raider signals one of the darkest moments in Lara Croft’s early years. Not only will she finally face off with the sinister organization known as Trinity, but she’ll have to confront the consequences of her actions as someone who tries to fix problems she shouldn’t be trying to solve.
Shadow of the Tomb Raider launches on September 14 for Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
Life is Strange: Double Exposure brings back Max Caulfield with new time-manipulation powers, but struggles to capture the original’s emotional weight. While the dual-timeline mechanic is engaging, the story’s weak twists, forgettable characters, and technical issues hold it back. A nostalgic revisit, but not a standout entry in the series.
