All The Details So Far On The Monster Rancher 2 Port For Switch And Mobile Devices
/ Carlos HernandezIn this week’s issue of Famitsu, they revealed that an enhanced port of Monster Rancher 2 (titled Monster Farm 2 in Japan) is coming to the Nintendo Switch and mobile devices this year. Koei Tecmo then revealed more information to give us an idea of what to expect from this version of the 1999 PlayStation classic.
The Monster Rancher 2 port will launch with over 400 monsters and that both the Switch, Android, and iOS versions of the game will be given new elements, bug fixes, various improvements, plus enhanced graphics and gameplay.
This version of Monster Rancher 2 will feature bluetooth controller support and tournament mode at launch and Switch players will have local two-player battles with the use of one Joy-Con per player. And If you’ve been playing the Monster Rancher 1 port, you can transfer your monsters to Monster Rancher 2 (just like the original), but this can only be done on the same platform.
Monster Rancher 2 (just like the Monster Rancher 1 port) will also have the franchises key feature - Disc Stone Reproduction. Instead of popping different CDs back in 1999 to generate monsters, players can create monsters via the game’s “Music Search” database. All you need to do is input the proper music information to obtain a specific monster.

Koei Tecmo started a “I want this Monster to be Born from this CD” campaign, allowing fans to input the preferred combination of artist and song titles that would generate a specific monster in the Monster Rancher 2 port. The website to send your suggestions is now live and the campaign will last from July 7 to July 27, 2020.
Monster Rancher 2 is set to launch in Japan this fall in Japan for 2,820 yen. There is currently no word if this port will localized for a western release.
