Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is Coming to Mobile
/ Miguel MendozaBloodstained: Ritual of the Night, the spiritual successor to the Koji Igarashi lineage of Castlevania games, is heading to iOS and Android devices soon. The mobile version will feature a revamped user interface and on-screen button controls optimized for the touchscreen centric platform.
Announced by publisher NetEase Games, the port is being handled by developer ArtPlay which worked on the original release of Bloodstained after Inticreates. The mobile version will feature all of the monsters, bosses, weapons, and skills present in the original release and will also include a new mechanic to make the command based special inputs for certain weapons easier to pull off. The mobile version will also include a new shortcut button making it possible to quickly swap between different skill, equipment and weapon loadouts. The mobile version will also include a new achievement system which will award you with in-game items.
This will be a onetime purchase paid download game that is not free-to-play. No specific regions for release have been mentioned. However, the game will be supported in multiple languages such as Japanese, English, Italian, French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, and Korean.
Originally released on the Switch, PS4, Xbox One, and PC back in June of 2019, Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is a side-scrolling action-adventure RPG in the genre that is colloquially known as Metroidvania or IGAvania. This game has the interesting history of being one of the most successful crowd funded games on Kickstarter racking in more than $5.5 million worth in pledges by nearly 65,000 backers. By no means does it reinvent the wheel but is instead a return to formula with a few modern quality of life improvements.
