Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time's N. Verted Mode, And Playable Dingodile Announced
/ Carlos HernandezIn PlayStation’s August 2020 State of Play, we were given a new look at Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time, explaining a good amount of the gameplay and what’s new in the latest entry to this platformer. One of the latest reveal is the new N. Verted mode which sounds like a great game mode to challenge players once they’ve finished the game.
The devs Toys for Bob collaborated with the folks at Beenox to bring N. Verted to Crash Bandicoot 4 by creating the unique presentation seen in N. Verted mode, which you can see in action at the 3:55 mark in the trailer above.
It changes everything from how fast you move in that particular stage to different sound effects and art design. It sounds like a fun way to play and to change things up once you’ve mastered the original stages.
Crash 4 will feature multiple playable characters aside from Crash himself like Coco and the big bad himself Neo Cortex, but it looks like you get to play as Dingodile, a first for the series..
Toys for Bob also announced during the State of Play presentation that Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time will feature various skins for characters like Crash, and confirms that there will be no microtransactions in the game, confirming that all the skins you see in the trailer can be unlocked by simply playing the game.
But there’s timed exclusives though for specific skins. Activision made a deal with Sony to provide two additional sets of skins for Crash and Coco, which will be awarded automatically to PlayStation players once they’ve completed the second level of the game. These skins are called the ‘Marsupus Erectus’ and ‘Serious Upgrade’ skins, and will be “available in other platforms no earlier than December 31, 2021”, says Activision.
Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time will be available on PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on October 2, 2020.
