Destiny 2’s next expansion titled Beyond Light has been delayed from a September 22, 2020 launch to a November 10, 2020 launch.

Bungie made the announcement of the expansion’s delay via a blog post on their official website stating that “The past few months have been a challenge and will continue to be during this pandemic.”

“We have a powerful story to tell and incredible new features that we’re really excited for players to experience. As always, our goal is to make the coolest, most entertaining expansion we can possibly make for our fans. To that end, we are doing what’s best for the game and moving the launch date.”

More details will follow as this delay extends the Season of Arrivals all the way to November. This will be the first time a Destiny 2 season will run for more than 50 days, so we’ll see what Bungie has in store for their player base to fill in the gaps as they prepare for the release of Beyond Light.

Bungie’s latest ‘This Week at Bungie’ post, revealed more details of this season’s extension, confirming that Moment of Triumph will also be extended, Solstice of Heroes will still run until September 8, and that the Festival of the Lost event will be added to this season, running from October 6 to November 3.

The Beyond Light expansion is considered as the first chaper in a new trilogy of expansions Bungie is cooking up for this on-going looter FPS, which is now being self-published by the studio since the release of their last expansion, Shadowkeep.
