Diablo 4’s First Expansion Is Called Vessel of Hatred, Coming Late 2024
/During the opening the 2023 BlizzCon opening ceremony, those watching were given a first look at Diablo 4’s first expansion called Vessel of Hatred as it centers around Diablo’s brother Mephisto.
The expansion picks up where the main campaign concluded as one of the Prime Evil will be the big antagonist and will bring players to a new region players have not visited previously — Nahantu.
The Vessel of Hatred expansion will also feature a new brand-new class that was never before seen in the Diablo universe. Beyond this, Blizzard didn’t share more details but they plan to reveal more some time next Summer.
The near future for Diablo IV
But Blizzard wasn’t done with Diablo IV as they shared what to expect in the coming months by teasing what to expect in the third season of live service content planned for the game. The name of the third season was not revealed. Still, they did share that next season will feature a weekly challenge dungeon called The Gauntlet, which is their way of introducing a leaderboard system as players can compete to reach the top of the Class ranking based on how they perform in The Gauntlet.
Events are coming
Diablo IV will soon be updated with a replayable six-week end-game event called Abattoir of Zir on December 5, which is designed specifically for players that have reached level 100 and pretty much done all the major challenges found in Season of Blood. This tough event will grant players a Paragon Glyph made through Lord Zir’s blood, the big bad in season two. This new timed event will also launch with Patch 1.2.3, which comes with a feature that allows players to preview what affixes they’ll get before committing gold and resources to enchant the item.
On December 12, Diablo IV will experience its first seasonal event for the Holidays and it is called Midwinter Blight, which comes with unique quests and rewards.
Before all of those events, Diablo IV will be updated with patch 1.2.2 on November 7, which adds class-specific unique Malignant Rings, to provide more variety on class builds.
This will be music to the ears of kids who grew up on the series, but for the uninitiated, there’s nothing quite like the Mario & Luigi games. Mario & Luigi Brothership does its best to appeal to a wide range of players with charming presentation and a strong new Battle Plug system, but not everyone will be enamored with its reflex-testing gameplay.
