Everyone Is Getting Borderlands 3 Crossplay Soon, Except PlayStation
/ Carlos HernandezIt looks like a new patch for Borderlands 3 is coming soon which enables crossplay support, allowing players from different platforms to group up and take on the crazies in Pandora and beyond together. Problem is, it looks like PlayStation 4 and 5 won’t be in on the fun.
CEO of developer Gearbox Software Randy Pitchford tweeted this week saying that their publisher required the devs to “remove crossplay support for PlayStation consoles” in order to obtain certification to release the patch. This means that Borderlands 3 cross-play will only be limited to Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Windows, Mac, and Stadia.
Good news or bad news first? Good News: An update for Borderlands 3 has been prepared for release that includes full crossplay support across all platforms. Bad News: For certification, we have been required by the publisher to remove crossplay support for PlayStation consoles.

Same goes for Rocket League back when it was enabling crossplay.
