Far Cry 6 Will Feature A Fully Voiced Protagonist
/Last week Ubisoft not only released our first look at Far Cry 6 gameplay but released a series of new information, including the protagonist Dani Rojas, the character players will be playing as they face President Antón Castillo control over the fictional Caribbean region Yara and it’s great to know that the main character will be fully voiced this time around.
Only a handful of iconic character can carry the silent protagonist approach in video games and the Far Cry series was certainly not one of them. Far Cry 5 proved that point as the one who went against the seed family in fictional Hope County, Montana, barely said a word during the campaign. It was a missed opportunity and a weird choice since protagonists on previous Far Cry titles (Far Cry 3 and 4) were fully voiced.
But thankfully, we have another fully voiced protagonist in Far Cry 6 and it looks like the interactions between Dani and the other characters will not be done through a first-person perspective. The character seems to be fully fleshed out as we get to clearly see him’her moving, talking, pretty much showing more personality through gestures and emotion. With Giancarlo Esposito as President Antón Castillo, scenes between the protagonist and the dictator could be an interesting bit of storytelling.
Here’s a video below showing how scenes will be played out as it also features the male and female versions of Dani Rojas.
Dani is hell-bent in overthrowing the oppressive government of President Castillo. It may all sound serious but Far Cry 6 seems to be far from it. Based on it’s first gameplay trailer, Ubisoft isn’t shy in showing the funny and absurd side of the game right at the start. This is an open world FPS game where you can launch your CD copies of the Macarena to slice up your enemies, pet a deadly crocodile, and get cuddly moral support from a wiener dog named Chorizo, who’s hind legs are sadly replaced with wheels attached to a small wagon.
Look at this guy.
Far Cry 6 is set for an October 7, 2021 release on the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Stadia, and PC (Uplay and Epic Games Store).
The PlayStation 5 Pro is set to launch on November 7. To support the launch, Sony revealed that there will be over 50 titles that will feature enhanced graphical support for the new version.
