Horizon Zero Dawn Is Getting the PS5 Remastered Treatment, Out This October
/During the September 25 State of Play broadcast, Sony Interactive Entertainment revealed Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered coming to the PS5. The same game but with improved graphical fidelity and animation to make the first game look almost similar to the quality seen in its sequel Horizon Forbidden West.
This remaster is getting the similar PS5 remaster upgrade treatment we saw when they Sony released a remastered version of The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered, as owners of the PS4 and PC versions of the game can get the Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered at a lowered cost of $9.99.
Disc owners of the original game will just need to insert the game disc on your PS5 to be eligible for the cheaper upgrade, while digital owners will simply have that option available. Pre-orders for Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered goes live on October 3.
This version of the game features “over 10 hours of re-recorded conversations, mocap and countless graphical improvements”. says Jan-Bart van Beek, Studio Director at Guerrila Games in a PlayStation Blog post talking about the remaster.
“The story’s many compelling characters have been upgraded, bringing them in line with current generation advances in character models and rendering. We hope that improved animation, lightning, textures and more will make new and existing fans excited to dive into the action!” Jan-Bart continues.
This is an uplift to a game that’s roughly seven years old, and I still think the original game looks amazing as it is, similar to my views of The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered.
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle has the potential to be a favorite for fans of the franchise, delivering an authentic Indiana Jones experience with its story and cinematic presentation. While the game shines in its exploration and puzzle elements, the combat and stealth mechanics’ lack of gameplay variety holds it back.
