Little Nightmares 2 Review Roundup
/Little Nightmares 2 is coming out this week and the reviews are in for the sequel to the horror puzzle platformer that was released back in 2017.
Initial reviews so far for Little Nightmares 2 have been positive for the most part as many praise the sequel’s level design and delivering the same eerie atmosphere that was present in the first game but further expanded in the sequel.
Here’s a quick list of reviews now out in the wild.
Gameinformer (9.25/10): “One of my favorite things about the first game was being introduced to a bizarre world and trying to determine Six’s place in it. It’s ambiguous enough to allow for multiple interpretations, and Little Nightmares II continues to invite speculation.”
Destructoid (8.5/10): “ Whether you're a seasoned survivor or an all-new player, you'll have a thrilling time with the sequel. It's ideal to start from the beginning, but it's not mandatory – this freaky story stands on its own.”
Gamesradar (4.5/5): “The first three quarters or so of Little Nightmares 2 are packed with enough creative pops of brilliance and an amazing, malevolent character that it outweighs the issues. They're frustrating but surmountable, with the exceptional moments more than enough reward for pushing through.”
VG247 (4/5): “Little Nightmares 2 is a superb sequel that carries on the impressive tone of the original, but improves in all key areas.”
Nintendo Life (8/10): “Little Nightmares II is nothing less than engaging from start to finish, with superb pacing, entertainingly varied level design and excellent graphics and performance. Its only real flaws are based on the imprecision that comes with all games in its sub-genre, as well as a few sections that feel more about trial and error than reactive survival.”
Attack of the Fanboy (4/5): “Little Nightmares II excels at creating a truly eerie atmosphere that’ll stay with you even after you’ve put your controller down. There were moments in which I wasn’t entirely sure what was going on but I think that’s part of its charm. It’s weird and wonderful and that’s what makes it great.”
The SixthAxis (8/10): “While some new elements have been added it is more of a next chapter to the story than a full blown sequel. The attention detail is incredible, bringing the story to life without a single spoken word.”
Worth Playing (8.6): “Little Nightmares II is a gem of a game that successfully builds on everything that made the first one great. It's a short but well-polished and atmospheric horror-platformer that oozes with creepy charm.”
There are other reviews out there and more will go online in the coming days if you still need a different perspectives to give yourself a good idea what Little Nightmares 2 will provide once it becomes available on February 11 for PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
If you want to experience the game first-hand, a free gameplay demo is available right now for PS4, Xbox One, and PC players (via Steam).
After 15 years Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl is now available on PC, Xbox Series, and even PC Game Pass. But it didn’t launch smoothly as at launch players experienced numerous bugs and issues as they returned to The Zone.
