Monster Hunter Rise Is Now Over 5 Million Sales Strong
/Capcom announced that in less than a week since launch, total shipments and digital sales for Monster Hunter Rise have surpassed 5 million units worldwide. This is a title that’s only out on the Nintendo Switch.
Capcom announced the crazy launch numbers but previously announced that it only took Monster Hunter Rise 3 days to reach the 4 million sales mark.
The last game, Monster Hunter: World, also shipped 5 million units during the same timeframe but was released on the PS4 and Xbox One. World is still considered as Capcom’s best-selling game to date as it was able to move nearly 17 million copies since it’s release in 2018. Rise is unlikely going to reach those numbers as it’s currently only available in one platform, but title is definitely on track to being one of Switch’s best-selling games.
The craze for the latest Monster Hunter title was felt in Japan as the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch Lite sales have gone up in the week Rise was released. In a report by Famitsu, 190,133 Switch units and 77,364 Switch Lite units were sold through the week of March 28. A week before, Switch sales through March 21 was only at 52,579 while the Switch lite had 36,525 units sold.
It’s a big increase and shows that Monster Hunter Rise is a system seller for Nintendo.
Monster Hunter Rise was developed using Capcom’s RE ENGINE, no longer using the MT Framework game engine, which was used to build Monster Hunter:World.
For those new to the series, here’s a quick overview provided by Capcom:
”Monster Hunter Rise is an all-new Monster Hunter title for Nintendo Switch. The game was developed with Capcom’s proprietary RE ENGINE in order to provide a new, accessible Monster Hunter experience that can be enjoyed anytime, anywhere and with anyone. In addition to new monsters and locales, the game provides a completely fresh take on the hunting experience through a host of new, exhilarating hunting actions made possible with the Wirebug. With this, players can traverse rocky cliffs via the Wall Run, soar over craggy terrain and through the air at high speed, or even bind monsters and control them. Further adding to the excitement is the debut of new “canyne” hunting partners called Palamutes, which hunters can ride to quickly navigate the maps. The title garnered critical acclaim following the release of two demos featuring both local and online cooperative play prior to launch, with resulting shipments exceeding five million units one week since release.”
Monster Hunter Rise is now available for the Nintendo Switch.
After 15 years Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl is now available on PC, Xbox Series, and even PC Game Pass. But it didn’t launch smoothly as at launch players experienced numerous bugs and issues as they returned to The Zone.
