Nintendo is releasing a new Nintendo Switch Model this August
/ Carlos HernandezThe Nintendo Lite isn’t the only new Nintendo device out in the market soon. A new model of the original Nintendo Switch will be available as early as August and it comes with longer battery life.
According to Nintendo, the HAC-001(01) model of the switch will have a battery life of approximately 4.5 - 9 hours compared to the original Switch model which had around 2.5 to 6.5 hours. If you play The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, the original unit’s battery would give you 3 hours of game time, while this new model will give you approximately 5.5 hours.
This new version of the Nintendo Switch will have the same price range as the original Switch and will first come to Japan in early August. North America will get the new model mid-August while in Europe it will launch this September.
No official word of its release in Southeast Asia, but based on previous releases, take note of the new Switch’s NA and Japan releases.
During the Nintendo Direct partner showcase that aired on August 28, Sega revealed that Yakuza Kiwami, the first game of the long-running Yakuza series, is coming to the Nintendo Switch on October 24 via the Nintendo eShop.
Nintendo revealed that their next console to succeed the Switch will be announced within this fiscal year, which ends on March 31, 2025. The statement about the new console was made by Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa.
