PineLeaf Studio Will be Publishing Merge Games' DwarfHeim
/ Carlos HernandezThe folks at Merge Games are partnering up with Pineleaf Studio to bring their co-op-infused RTS game DwarfHeim to PC.
At the heart of it all, DwarHeim has the traditional elements that make a real-time strategy game, only this time you play with 1-3 other players, each with their own roles in managing their Dwarven city. These roles are represented as classes — Builder, Miner, warrior, or Diplomat — each one are the bare essentials when it comes to managing a city. Communication and synergy seems to be key in order to properly manage the city in order for it to grow and defend the community from outside threats.
Here’s a quick rundown of features coming to DwarfHeim on launch:
Competitive & Co-op Multiplayer – Team up with 3 other players in Conquest, a competitive multiplayer game mode. Tear through the enemy team’s defenses and destroy their Town Hall!
4 Unique Classes – Choose from Builder, Miner, Warrior, and Diplomat!
Build, Mine, Defend and Manage - Choose your own strategies, units, buildings and technology that best suits you and your team.
Single-Player Experience:
Sandbox mode – Explore a vast, open area in the single-player. Build your own experience and play alone or with up to 3 friends in the slow-paced sandbox mode.
Survival mode – Test your strategies and strength with up to 3 friends or mystic strangers and try to outlive all of the troll waves coming your way.
Ranked Matchmaking – Rank up by winning competitive matches and face players that match your skill level.
Friend-Pass - Invite your friends along to play on a free downloadable client of DwarfHeim, even if they haven’t purchased the game!
There is currently no release date for DwarfHeim. The game will release on Steam and Merge Games developers are planning to show off more about the game live through Steam’s live streaming feature later today.

While the dual-timeline mechanic is engaging, the story’s weak twists, forgettable characters, and technical issues hold it back. A nostalgic revisit, but not a standout entry in the series.
