PlayStation 5 Will Launch In The Philippines On December 11, Priced At P27,990
/ TMGLocal stores in the Philippines such as Datablitz, iTech, and Sony Interactive Entertainment Singapore (SIES) have announced that the PlayStation 5 will be available for sale on December 11, 2020. The standard version of the PS5 that comes with an Ultra HD Blu-ray™ disc drive will cost PHP 27,990.
This is the first announcement in the Philippines since the reveal of the console and it’s release date back in September. But information is a bit limited as we only received a release date and a price for the standard version of the PS5, as well as the price of launch titles and accessories that will be available at launch. There is no word at this moment if the digital version of the PS5 will be available on December 11, 2020.
Local retail stores like Datablitz also noted that pre-orders for the PlayStation 5 are still not available and that more information will be posted soon.
Sony also detailed the prices for the PS5 accessories:
DualSense™ Wireless Controller (standalone) – PHP 3,990
PULSE 3D™ wireless headset – PHP 5,590
HD Camera – PHP 3,290
DualSense™ Charging Station (charges up to two DualSense controllers) - PHP 1,690
Exclusive PS5 games were also priced by Sony:
Astro’s Playroom (Japan Studio) – pre-installed on PS5
Demon’s Souls – PHP 3,490 (SRP)
Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales – PHP 2,490 (SRP)
Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales Ultimate Edition – PHP 3,490 (SRP)
Sackboy A Big Adventure – PHP 2,990 (SRP)
This also marks the first pricing of any next-gen game in the Philippines. Demon’s Souls, despite it being a remake, is slightly higher than the usual price ranges we’ve come to expect from physical copies on the PS4.
