I guess Respawn Entertainment wasn’t done with Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order because they released a hefty patch this week that gives the game a variety of new features to give the game more legs the moment a player finishes the game’s story.

Meditation Training, the place for those looking to test their Jedi skills

For those looking for a challenge, you’ll appreciate the Combat Challenges mode, which is available in Meditation Training, a mode accessible through the many Meditation points found in the game’s world.

In Combat Challenges, Cal will have to face waves of enemies and how you do in the challenge will be rated via a star rating system once you complete the challenge. There are 12 challenges in total and the highest star rating you can get in each one is a three star rating. For your troubles, you’ll unlock new skins for Cal’s droid BD-1 based on the number of stars you’ve earned in total.

But that’s not all that’s available. Meditation Training also features Battle Grid, which is a crazy game mode that allows you to personality create your own combat scenarios. From the location, how many enemies will be in the encounter, down to the difficulty modifiers. You can make your own set of challenges which can then be saved if you want to test yourself again in the future.

Lastly, you have New Journey+ that’s also accessible in Meditation Training and this essentially New Game Plus, giving the player the option to replay the campaign all over again. But this second playthrough is a reset of skills and abilities. The only thing carrying over to your new playthrough is the character skins you’ve unlocked so far. Going through the game again will unlock an Inquisitor uniform skin for Cal and a red kyber crystal and new lightsaber sets.

Respawn also took the time to include accessibility features like text scaling, and an option to prevent button mashing during events. They’ve also tweaked the gameplay to improve the overall feel, especially when you block and parry during combat.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is a good action game that would please fans of the original source material. If you’re planning to pick it up soon, check out our full review of the game right here.
