The Characters We Want To See As A Killer In Dead By Daylight's Resident Evil Chapter
/Last month, Behaviour Interactive confirmed that Dead by Daylight will finally get a Resident Evil chapter, and since it’s just weeks away until they finally reveal who will be the new killer and survivor joining the game, so I’ve compiled a list of characters that would be a perfect fit to being the next killer in the 4v1 multiplayer horror game.
Who will be the next killer to join Dead by Daylight in the Resident Evil Chapter?
Resident Evil is easily one of the best additions to Dead by Daylight, a game that currently has iconic killers such as Nightmare on Elm’s Street’s Freddy Kreuger, Halloween’s Michael Myers, and just last year, added Pyramid Head from Silent Hill, the first killer from a video game franchise to join Dead by Daylight.
But who is the likely candidates to be the killer in the Resident Evil chapter? Here’s our top choices.
G-Virus Birkin (Resident Evil 2)
Lady Dimitrescu or one of her daughters (Resident Evil Village)
Nemesis (Resident Evil 3)
Jack Baker (Resident Evil Village)
Mr. X (Resident Evil 2)
Mr. X and Nemesis is an easy choice as not only are they iconic characters well-known by fans of Resident Evil, it can be pretty scary having either of them coming at you slowly as you work on a generator, just like how they would stalk you in their respective games. With a chapter like this, I would like the reveal to be unexpected, something fun for fans of both franchises, so it’s unlikely going to be these two, but I don’t mind being wrong on this one.
A G-Virus-infused Dr. William Birkin could be added into the game as grotesque monster with a big eye on his shoulder equipped with a pipe. The size could be a problem though with how Dead by Daylight works since survivors can spot him a mile away.
So, the strong contenders are likely those recently added to the series. After all, Resident Evil Village just came out and is a direct sequel to Resident Evil 7. Jack baker would feel like a good fit for Dead by Daylight but I doubt many won’t be keen at having yet another chainsaw wielding lunatic in the game.
So that only leads to recently introduced Resident Evil Village characters Lady Dimitrescu or one of her daughters. The glorious Lady Dimitrescu is great and all but her height of 9 feet, 6 inches could pose as a design problem gameplay-wise, so one of her daughters fits the bill more to being a killer in Dead by Daylight. Their ability to transform to a swarm of wasps, their crazy personality and unique look and weapon just fits it seems like some people are thinking the same thing, more-so now with a recent image released by the developers.
The strongest fan theory yet
Behaviour Interactive teased the upcoming 5th anniversary event which is where they will reveal the killer and survivor of the Resident Evil chapter, the next DLC to be added in Dead by Daylight, and fans are speculating that how the number 5 designed in the image below is a clue at who will be the next killer.
Fans speculate that the number five design looks similar to the weapon of Lady Dimitrescu’s daughters, as each one wields a blade that can also serve as a hook to drag their pray, just as what they did to Ethan Winters in Village.
Dead by Daylight content creator Schmuckles entertained the theory as well by showing how identical the number 5 design looks compared to the daughter’s weapon.
The theory isn’t crazy if you think about it as many speculated that pyramid head will be the next killer through the same clue during Dead by Daylight’s 4th anniversary event, with the number 4 designed to be shaped like Pyramid Head’s…well, head. And it turned out to be true.
Here’s the 4th anniversary teaser image below.
For possible survivors, it’s unlikely that we will get Ethan Winters, the protagonist of Resident Evil 7 and Village as Capcom never officially revealed so far, so it’s likely a STARS member, either Jill Valentine or Chris Redfield (The RE Village version). We could also potential get a new map from this Resident Evil chapter, and it isn’t a Raccoon City map, that would be a missed opportunity on my book.
Who do you think will be added as the next killer in Dead by Daylight in the Resident Evil chapter? The Dead by Daylight 5th anniversary live-stream event is set to go live on May 25, 2021.
