Ubisoft Confirms Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake Set for 2026 Release
/The 2024 Ubisoft Forward broadcast has concluded and one of the titles revealed in Ubisoft’s yearly reveal show is Prince of Persia The Sands of Time remake, the same project that was announced back in 2020 that was pushed back multiple times due to fan reactions when it was first revealed.
We didn’t get a new gameplay showing of the reimagining of the remake, but simply a reminder that they are still working on it and that you should expect it sometime in...2026.
The teaser was also simply 30 seconds long. You can have a look at the teaser below.
An unusual announcement considering that shows like this are meant to excite players for the second half of 2024 and next year 2025.
But it looks like Ubisoft is showing that they are committed once again to the series as we did get the amazing Prince of Persia The Lost Crown, our first 5/5 reviewed game for 2024, and the platformer is getting more content this year as we are given a glimpse of the upcoming DLCs during the show.
The third and free “Divine Trials” update is now available as it adds 22 new expert challenges for players to test their skills in the game. But they are not stopping there as they also have a story-based DLC coming this September called Mask of Darkness.
The Rogue Prince of Persia’s first major update is now live
The Rogue Prince of Persia, a new platformer from developer Evil Twin, has been in Steam’s early access for roughly two weeks at this point and has just received its first major update called “The Temple of Fire”. This new update adds a new biome into the mix, two new mobs, one new weapon, the meta progression skill tree, and more changes.
As much as the Prince of Persia Sands of Time remake has a long way to go, at least we have these two games to keep the series alive..for now.
Metaphor: ReFantazio is now my favorite title from the Persona team by far. It’s one of those rare games where its main pillars work harmoniously, and you get lost in its charm. It’s a pristine JRPG, with enough style and substance to satisfy hardcore JRPG fans, Persona fans, and even those who rarely touch JRPGs.
