Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Enters Season 5 Later Today
/Call of Duty: Modern Warfare enters season 5 later today on August 5, 2020 11 PM PDT / 2 PM GMT+8. I hope you’ve started the update as just like previous seasons and content patches for Modern Warfare, it’s a lot to take in.
Here’s what to expect.
Multiplayer
Multiplayer will be given a variety of new maps such as two 6v6 maps called Sldal Harbor and Petrov Oil Rig, a new Ground War map called Verdansk International Airport, and a Gunfight map called Livestock.
Other additions in Season 5 for multiplayer is a new operator called Lerch, a new game mode called Search and Destroy Double Down, plus two new weapons - the AN -94 and the SMG ISO, which needs to be unlocked in the free section of the Season 5 Battle Pass.
Warzone changes
The Battle Royale mode Warzone is receiving major changes to it’s map once Season 5 goes live.
For starters, the Acropolis National Arena (better known as Verdansk Stadium) is now busted open via the roof, making it now a massive new drop zone to explore and it apparently has an underground parking section.
The Verdansk Train Station was also given a few changes as its interiors can now also be explored by players. But that’s not all that’s different as there’s now a fully armed freight train circling the southwest section of the battle royale map and will most likely be where most of the fights will break out in Season 5.
Warzone is also receiving a Mini Royale game mode if players are looking for a change of pace and updated the weaponry you can find on either through Supply Crates or on the ground.
