Here's Everything Announced During The Resident Evil Showcase
/The Resident Evil Showcase has ended and Capcom delivered new details for their upcoming game Resident Evil Village, which is coming out on May 7, 2021. In case you missed it or want to revisit all that was revealed, here’s a quick breakdown.
Resident Evil Village will be available on PS4 and Xbox One
Resident Evil Village, the next entry in the Resident Evil series that follows the events after Resident Evil 7, will be out on May 7 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, but will also launch on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. This is good to hear officially as majority of the console community hasn’t fully converted to the new consoles due to stocks being scarce all around the world.
There’s a demo available for PS5 owners right now
After a new look at Resident Evil Village gameplay, it was announced during the show that a playable demo will be available to download starting today on the PlayStation 5. You play as a character named Maiden tasked to escape an eerie dungeon, which is built to showcase the game’s visuals, environment, and atmosphere as combat isn’t available in this demo.
A different demo will be available sometime in spring and will be available on all platforms. More details on that at a later date.
If you are eager to see gameplay footage, check out the latest gameplay video as it covers a good range on how the game will play. It also features the inventory system which works similar to the system found in Resident Evil 4. Village will also it’s own creepy vendor that has a rather quirky personality and will interact with Ethan and will sell various items to players.
There’s a tall creepy lady and her daughters hunting Ethan Winters
Resident Evil Village is looking pretty impressive as it seems like an expanded version on what we experienced in Resident Evil 7. The first-person perspective, puzzles, and awkward shooting return but the big surprise is the introduction of a tall lady named Alcina Dimitrescu with three of her daughters that have the ability to turn into swarms of flying insects. A welcome change if you compare them to the other baddies that came before them and we are dying to know more. For now, they are out to get you and it looks like it would be best to keep running.
Resident Evil Village will have different Editions available for purchase
Capcom also revealed that Resident Evil Village will feature different editions players can buy. Together with the standard edition that simply comes with the game, a deluxe edition of Resident Evil Village will include Max Difficulty, a Safe Room Music, a Mr Everywhere weapon charm, a Save Device tap recorder, an Albert01 gun, a Found Footage RE7 filter, and The Tragedy of Ethan Winters.
A Resident Evil Village collector’s edition will also be available and will come with all the extra items mentioned above plus a poster, an artbook , a steelbook case for the game, and a Chris Redfield figurine.
Preordering the game will also score you an in-game Mr. Racoon weapon charm and a good amount of in-game items that will help you in your first playthrough. For those who plan to preorder the game on the PlayStation Store, you’ll get a digital copy of the game’s soundtrack.
Also, in case you haven’t played the previous game, Capcom will bundle Resident Evil 7 with Resident Evil Village to get you all caught up and ready for the new game.
You will get a free copy of the upcoming multiplayer game Re:Verse if you own Resident Evil Village
It looks like Capcom isn’t done giving you multiplayer games set in the Resident Evil universe as the Resident Evil Showcase also debuted Re:Verse a competitive multiplayer shooter where you play as various characters from the Resident Evil universe.
Based on the trailer above, you fight against other players playing as other iconic Resident Evil characters and a death could result in you spawning as Nemesis or one of the known creatures from the franchise? It’s weird. But I’m digging the comic book graphical art style, so they have that going for them.
No release date was given, so there’s a chance we might have Re:Verse available after Village launches.
Lastly, Resident Evil is getting a crossover with The Division 2. Nothing grand but expect some Resident Evil items like Leon’s Raccoon City cop outfit to hit the looter shooter starting on February 2.
After 15 years Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl is now available on PC, Xbox Series, and even PC Game Pass. But it didn’t launch smoothly as at launch players experienced numerous bugs and issues as they returned to The Zone.
