Titanfall 2 Is Selling Well On Steam Since It's Release On The Platform, Reviving It's Multiplayer
/EA has been releasing their top franchises on Steam for the first time and among them is Titanfall 2, a title that’s currently standing out as it’s the only recently released EA title to reach the top of Steam’s top sellers chart, breathing new life to the game’s multiplayer.
This 2016 first-person shooter is a critically-acclaimed title that didn’t sell very well as it had a release window that directly competed against 2016’s Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare and EA’s own Battlefield 1.
Many, including the critics, considered Titanfall 2 as a fantastic underrated gem with many praising the franchise’s first-ever campaign and it’s unique gameplay that seamlessly switches from pilot to mech. Thanks to tough competition during the first three months of release, the player base slowly dwindled for the multiplayer portion in all platforms. Soon after, Respawn Entertainment moved on to release the free-to-play battle royale title Apex Legends (part of the Titanfall world) as well as Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.
4 years have passed but many have not forgotten. Discussions that come up talking about the best shooters of this generation still have many mentioning Titanfall 2, and with EA releasing the shooter on Steam, it seems the interest for the franchise never went away as it’s now the top seller on Steam.
This is a good sign to fans hoping to see more from the Titanfall franchise if it’s player base continue to grow on Steam. As of this writing, Steam Charts reveals that the number of players playing Titanfall 2 within a 24-hour period peaked at more than 9,000 players. It’s not beating top titles for concurrent users on the platform but it’s enough to be part of the top 100 most-popular games on the online store, a huge jump as to where it was weeks ago.
Titanfall 2, and just like the rest of the recently release EA titles, are currently on sale on Steam. Titanfall 2 is 67% off, priced at PHP 329.67.
